Violence Case
in Education Area
Who
Responsible?
Issues:
In 2014,
Indonesian Children Protection Commission (KPAI) accepted more than 600
children violence cases, and more than 200 cases occurred in school or
education environment. Whereas School, properly being safe place on children
growing up and developing attitude, nowadays being a thriving “bullying”
atmosphere instead. Ironically, student not only becomes a victim but also they
become a performer. Therefore, who will responsible on this case? Education and
Culture Ministry? School? Teacher? Or that student as performer?
Description:
Again, publics
are surprised by the spread of children violence video in social media,
youtube. In that video shows there is student crying in the classroom corner
which is attacked by more than 7 students. They fist, kick, even run fast in
order to beat hard. As mentioned by the teacher of SD Bukittinggi, West
Sumatera, it happened in middle class of religion, when the teacher goes to the
office and some students anger because they put the bite on student but she reject
it. Then they are “bullying” her by some “treatments”.
Perceived from
the news, Education and Culture Minister (Kemendikbud) M. Nuh said that he will
take action against the school and teacher. Then, he stated the function of
K-13 to avoid such violence, because student is taught character building. Whereas,
Indonesian Children Protection Commission (KPAI) deplore teacher dereliction
which can’t save and protect the students.
“Bully” is an
action to disturb and annoy to others, especially the weak one. It can be mocking,
laughing, even physical as violence. As mentioned by the author of Bencana
Sekolah said violence occurred because some students are envy or feel strong among
the others. They want to get interest from teacher or friend and most of them
are not clever student. Just like Mario Teguh stated “bully” is invisible,
oftentimes it happened in all school and student as victims will show the
different behavior in their daily, they will be shame and stolid.
In fact, the
influence of violence will affect the victims indeed. In psychological, they
will keep away from the friend, be alone, and be afraid. Moreover, when it
occurs in physical treatment cause a wounds and injuries. Although the
psychological wound is harder to heal, also physical violent is not simply to
ignore it. Therefore, when the violence had happened, as the milk had spilled,
then restraining such incident becomes responsibility for all people without
taking blame in one part only.
